Obituary for Wyoma Lee Fussell
Wyoma Lee Fussell, née Feuge, age 94, passed away May 19, 2020, in Dallas, Texas, where she had lived for 62 years. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas, to Walter and Martha Feuge. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur and the Port Arthur Business College. She met her husband of 61 years, Neil Stewart Fussell, while working at Texaco in Port Arthur. The couple moved to Dallas in 1958 and lived there the remainder of their lives. She, along with her husband Neil, were passionately devoted to music throughout their lives, and were longtime supporters of the Dallas Opera and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, as well as members of the Park Cities Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir for 48 years. Wyoma learned to play the piano at age 7, and continued to play until the end of her life. She served as assistant organist for many years and Sanctuary Choir rehearsal accompanist for over 30 years at Park Cities Baptist Church. Highlights of her musical life included playing the organ at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, and Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris. She was proud of her family’s German heritage, as her great-great-grandfather Christoph Feuge was one of the original settlers of Fredericksburg, Texas, having immigrated from Heiningen, Germany, to Fredericksburg, Texas, in 1846.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Neil; and is survived by sons Walter Neil Fussell and David Stewart Fussell, both of Dallas, Texas; daughter Carol Lee Everett, son-in-law Joe Bob Everett, and grandchildren Jeffrey Blane, Mason Caroline and Landry Elise Everett, all of Austin, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Dallas Symphony Orchestra endowment fund: https://www.mydso.com/give/special-gifts/tribute-gifts.
