Marion Ferguson Harris, 97, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the St. Mary’s Nursing Home in Leonardtown.

Born on October 30, 1922 in Colmar Manor, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late James Ferguson and Flora Ferguson. A homemaker and mom, Mrs. Harris was an animal lover and an avid reader. She enjoyed her 8 oz. Bud Lights with colored bendy straws, the outdoors, especially in the garden, and traveling. Mrs. Harris was easy going and fun loving who would take care and love all animals and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David Ray Harris.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her sons James Batch Sr. and Lawrence Batch Jr.; grandchildren James Batch Jr., Bryan Batch, Laura Pede, and Charles Batch; great grandchildren Garrett Batch, Bentley Batch, Olivia Pede and Lucas Pede.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 10AM until time of service at 12Noon at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Face covering, social distancing, along with limited persons in the facility will be strictly adhered to.

A private interment will be held following the service at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Nursing Home, 21585 Peabody Street, Leonardtown, Maryland 20650.
