Ruby Mae Haught Warren was born to Verde and Ada Haught in Winslow Arizona July 17, 1933. The youngest of 4 children, Jack, Opal and Pearl. Ruby passed away with her daughters by her side near her winter home in Tonto Basin, Arizona on April 1st, 2020.
There is a special place in heaven for people who live their lives steeped in goodness. Ruby Warren was a good woman, but more than this, she lived a life of goodness, a life led by faith, love and grace.
Over the course of her 86 years, Ruby exemplified the role of wife, mother, aunt and grandma with a special kind of grace. She shared her knowledge and wisdom freely-an assurance of value for generations to come. At the tender age of 14, Ruby met Pat Warren resulting in " a love affair that stuck". Pat and Ruby married, April 20, 1949 in Gallup New Mexico; Shortly thereafter, the couple built a log home themselves on Squaw Point, south of Dove Creek and raised five children who called the canyons and timber their playground. Their home was a welcome hearth of loving-kindness, hot meals, and bluegrass jam sessions for neighbors, friends and families, far and wide.
Ruby is survived by her children; Jim Warren (Nancy) of Dove Creek and Tonto Basin, Arizona, Patsy Funk (Johnny) of Dove Creek, Colorado, Dan Warren (Ellen) of Dove Creek, Colorado, Verdine Miller (Bill) of Durango, Colorado, and Cindy Ausmus (Clayton) of Phoenix, Arizona. Ruby is survived by 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, neices and nephews and a host of friends from both Colorado and Arizona.
A service is pending and will be announced at a later date. Ruby will rest with Pat, her siblings and parents high on the hill in the Dove Creek Cemetery.
