She was united in holy matrimony on October 21, 1948, to Kenneth Abbey. Together they raised 7 children and were proud grandparents of 12 and great-grandparents of 12. Her oldest grandson bestowed the name Grandma Goose Goose which was shortened to Goosie. Goosie loved everything Hungarian. Her creative talents were unmistakable in her Hungarian embroidery, Hungarian cooking and painting. Lola was an amazing cook who enjoyed sharing her treasured recipes with friends and family. She also took pleasure in feeding and sheltering the many birds that flocked to their yard. She was a diehard Cleveland Indians and Notre Dame fan. Ken and Lola liked to travel to Florida, Las Vegas and Lake Havasu Springs, Arizona. Lola placed a high priority on family. She was involved and very supportive of all of her children and grandchildren's sports and extracurricular activities. An active backer of Lake High School, she helped organize numerous sport banquets. Lola was a devoted volunteer at St. Charles Hospital for 37 years and an active member of St. Stephen Catholic Church.
