Robert Enoch Steen (called Bob by family and friends) married Lillie Schwab in 1892. Bob's nephew, William Collins Brown, married Emma Schwab (Lillie Schwab's sister) in 1895. Steen family history relates that both couples migrated to Durant, Indian Territory, Oklahoma by covered wagon around 1898. Bob died shortly after arriving; his body was returned to Texas and he was buried in the Steen Family Cemetery. His widow, Lillie Schwab as well as William Collins Brown and wife, Emma Schwab Brown returned to Gonzales County shortly after Bob's death.
Robert and Lilly had 6 children. Robert Steen Jr., Ruby Steen Owens, Anges Steen Head, Ruth Steen Mayfield, Infant Steen girl, Ethel Steen DuBose.
Lilly married a second time to James Henry Parks.
