NAPLES, Texas-Janice Ray Matthews, 54, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at her home.
Mrs. Matthews was born Aug. 21, 1951, in Hughes Springs, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Point Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Matthews of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Melissa Coleman and Stephanie Garrett of Naples and Shelly Childers of DeKalb, Texas; two stepchildren, Stacey Matthews of Tyler, Texas, and Dusty Matthews of Missouri; her parents, Maurine and Ray Barton of Naples; four brothers, James Barton, Jerry Barton, Jackie Barton and Johnny Barton of Naples; her grandmother, Carrie Iberta Lilley of Daingerfield, Texas; eight grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Rocky Point Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Pleas Layne officiating. Burial will be in Cornett Cemetery under direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Relatives will be at the home of Maurine Barton, Naples.
