Marcus Ralph Graves, 66, died Jan. 17 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper following a lengthy illness. He was born on his parents' homestead near Douglas on April 1, 1921, the son of Fred Ernest and Florence Belle (Abercrombie) Graves. He was reared and educated in Douglas. He was married to Georgia Magdelene DeRose on Oct. 1, 1943 in Hobbs, N.M. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He returned to Douglas after his discharge in 1945. In 1951 he began working for the Wyoming Highway Department and retired in 1981. He is survived by his wife of Douglas; three daughters, Georgia Elder-Graves of Anaheim Hills, Calif., Virginia Graves of Stockton, Calif., and Linda Rollins of Cheyenne; son-in-law, Roger Rollins of Cheyenne; three sisters, Gladys Hill of Douglas, Berniece Davenport of Placerville, Calif. and Virginia Mountjoy of El Sobrante, Calif.; one brother, Wayne Graves of Lodi, Calif.; six grandchildren, Shawn, Billy Mark, Elena, Rhonda, B. J. and Travis; six great grandchildren, April, David, Ryan, Tabitha, Rainey and Mark; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1962; son Captain William Boyd Graves in 1967, his mother in 1975 and one half-brother, Jim Graves.
