His parents were Lucy Bassell (1828-1923) and Samuel Martin (1820-1900).

The children of Charles H & Delphina not listed below were Claude Henry b. 1884, Clyde Morse b. 1888 (who married Ina L Cook 1888-1965) and little Pearl 1891-1892.

The older "stone" had no inscription on it and wasn't in good shape. I wish to thank 1. Anne with the City of DeWitt, 2.the fellows who removed the old cement, and that nasty center "pillar", cleaned up the site and put in the new cement, 3. Erin of Superior Monument of Muskegon, MI for devoting her time to designing & ordering the stone + answering all my phone calls, 4. the on site delivermen and 5.the City of DeWitt Cemetery workers for ALL their help & understanding from Oct. 2014 to the last of June 1915. A special thanks to my daughter Kerrill L Dunning who drove on the freeways and "Supper Slabs" for 4 hours each way so I could witness the laying of the stone!

The "time line" shows the progress it took to make the memorial the best it could be. Please note the names of Delphina, her husband Charles, her parents Jesse & Elizabeth on the TOP of the stone. As a memorial to Delphia's daughter Jessie Elizabeth Carr (who's name is on the front side) is included in tribute, but Grandma Carr is NOT buried there.
