Jake Richardson Sr., age 91 of Gatesville, passed away on the morning of June 1, 2020.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2020 at Restland Cemetery.

Jake was born on August 19, 1928, in Coryell County to the late Jesse and Myrtle Stephens Richardson. He grew up in the Mound and Coryell City area. Later on, Jake moved to the Temple/Belton area where he resided most of his life. In 2010 Jake moved back to Gatesville to be closer to family.

Jake was a truck driver for over 30 years. He started his career working for the Erwin family in Gatesville, and then retired from Wendland’s Feed and Seed Co. After retirement Jake would pass the time doing odd jobs and working in his yard. Jake loved spending time with family and watching old western movies, especially John Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Featherston; two sisters, Linnie Mocadlo and Virginia Henson; five brothers, Jesse Jr., Harvey, Billy Wayne, Johnny and Dennis Richardson.

Jacob is survived by his daughters, Rose Bachmayer and husband, Albert, Betty Kizer and husband, Ralph; son, Jacob L. Richardson Jr.; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pansy Ray of Palestine and Pauline Shaw of Burnett; special lifelong friends, Michael Willis and Samuel London, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
