Age 52, son of the Right Hon. Thomas Twisleton, eleventh Lord Saye and Sele, First Archbishop of Colombo. He died at Hambantotte and "his remains were interred at Tangalle on the 17th instant" and this memorial "erected by his affectionate wife and children."

Sacred to the memory of the Honorable and Venerable Thomas James Twisleton, D.D., First Archdeacon of Colombo, who died universally lamented at Hambantotte on the 15th August, 1824. Aged 52. He was second son of the Right Hon. Thomas, eleventh Lord Saye and Sele.
