Mr. Charlie Andrew Marshall, Jr., 80, passed away Tuesday August 27, 2019. He was born in Winston-Salem, to Charlie Andrew and Alvah Hart Marshall. Charlie wore many hats. After graduation from R. J. Reynolds High School where he was on the varsity football team, he entered the U.S. Army and was given "Outstanding Academic Graduate" at Fort Jackson Infantry in SC on May 1962 for training in the Chemical, Biological, Radiological Warfare division. He remained in the National Guard until 1967. Charlie then founded Winston Air Conditioning Company which he owned for 27 years as well as developing Healy Plaza in 1973, and West Wood Shopping Center in Clemmons, as well as Raintree Estates in Davie County. Charlie also built many office buildings on Trenwest Drive and Charlois Blvd under Marshall Properties. He ran a farm in Davie County that raised laying hens for Cargill, and Purina as well as maintaining a dairy, and pure bred cattle operations. Charlie lived each day embracing the best of life's offerings. He is survived by his wife April Marshall; 2 sons, Drew Marshall (Tara), and Lance Marshall (Melissa); 4 grandchildren, Tatum, Isabelle, Collier, and Logan; two Sisters, Sandra Tate (PA), and Jimmye Olivey; many beloved nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Martha Marshall. As was Charlie's request there will be a private family service at a later date.
