Michael Joe Barrett, age 61, of the East Armuchee Community passed away peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.
Michael was an avid deer hunter, collector of vintage glass bottles, and arrowheads. His greatest joy came from being in the great outdoors. He was employed with Mohawk Industries as a truck dispatcher with CB Handle of deer hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Elsie Roach Barrett; brothers, Richard and Herschel Barrett; and sister, Margaret “Sis” Cavin.
Michael is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Jane Austin Barrett; daughter, Amanda Peaches Barrett (Lee) Bradley; granddaughters, Lana Jo Barrett and Zoey Bradley; special nephew, James Carr; brothers, Marlon “Porky” (Marilyn) Barrett and Mickey Barrett; sister, Jean Barrett Wooten; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2020 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Timmy Barrett officiating.
Interment at Concord Cemetery.
Pallbearers are nephews, James Carr, Richard Austin, Jim Barrett, Joey Barrett, Jeff Goins, and special friend, Tony Scoggins.
