Born in Florence County he was a son of the late Walter Wheeler Floyd and Ettie Elizabeth Driggers Floyd. He was a retired Supervisor from Southern Coatings Paint Company of Sumter, he was a former Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and a member of Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Elise F. Powell; seven brothers, J. L. Floyd, W. Carlisle Floyd, S. Bethea Floyd, Rev. J. Burdell Floyd, Adrian Floyd, Benjamin Floyd, and Rev. J. Carnell Floyd.
