Roderick E. Abbott, age 60, of Lakeview Friendship Manor, Roanoke, formerly of Salem, died Tuesday at his home. He was a native of Alliance, Ohio. He had been a resident of Salem most of his life.
He was an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his mother, Evelyn L. Abbott of Salem; two sisters, Virginia Brickey of Catawba; Janice M. Allen of Raleigh, N. C.; a brother, Kenneth P. Abbott, Salem; a grandson, Jonathon Whorley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, by Gino Wygal. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00.
