SIGURD, Utah--Ray Okerlund Dastrup, age 82, of Sigurd, passed away on December 26, 1999 at the home of his daughter, Nancy, in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was born Nov. 4, 1917 in Sigurd, Utah, a son of Homer Hans and Nellie Okerlund Dastrup, both deceased. He married Pluma Harward on September 26, 1939 in the Manti L.D.S. Temple. He was a prominent rancher, dairy farmer and horseman. He was a lifetime resident of Sigurd.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Pluma, of Sigurd; children: Brent H. and Karen Dastrup of Redondo Beach, California; Nancy Rae and Kent Turner of North Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren: Brent Ray Dastrup, Redondo Beach, CA; David Milton Dastrup, Carlsbad, CA; James Caston and Maryann Dastrup, San Pedro, CA; Hans Joseph and Tara Dastrup, Redondo Beach, CA; Jared Thomas Dastrup, Redondo Beach, CA; Brett Kent and Amy Turner, Simi Valley, CA; Stacy Rae Turner, North Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren: Caston James Dastrup, Luke McKay Turner and Kelly Chandler Turner.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30, 1999 at 12 Noon in the Sigurd L.D.S. Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Thursday morning from 10 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Sigurd Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
