She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Luray, the daughter of Earl and Flora Mae Hopp Cochenour.
On May 6, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gayle Hines in Revere, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1978.
Doris worked at Sheller Globe and retired after 24 years. She is a member of the Luray Baptist Church in Luray.
She brought many smiles to the faces of those she knew and loved through her gift of cooking. She enjoyed tending to her cattle and tomato plants along with her many cats that tagged along with her. But most of all, her family was her pride and joy.
She is survived by one son, Keith Hines and his wife Sherry of Luray, five grandchildren, Keitha Rippenkroeger and her husband Tony of Farmington, Kandi Cochran and her husband Michael of Luray, Kindra Ford and her husband John of Luray, Kayla Wilkins and her husband Jeremy of Wyaconda, Mo., and Gayle Hines of Luray; two step grandchildren, Wesley Peck of Fairfield and Mathew Peck and his wife Christina of Luray; six great grandchildren; a sister Bertha McBride of Farmington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her son, Lee Hines, a daughter-in-law, Jackie Hines, and two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, Mo., with Pastor Mark Boley officiating. Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery.
