GREENSBORO DAPHNE TEA gue Williams, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Ashton Place surrounded by her family. Daphne was born on April 18, 1920 in Lexington, VA, the daughter of C. Clyde and Nellie McCoy Teague. She moved to the Glenwood community with her parents when she was an infant and resided there for 85 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church for over 70 years. She was a fixture in Glenwood, participating in garden club, schools, scouts and many other activities as her children were growing up. Until she reached the age of 80, she worked as an office manager with several area companies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Her greatest joy in life was to help and serve others. She will be deeply missed.Daphne was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh B. Williams, and her siblings, Charlie Teague and Gladys Roberson. Those surviving are her children: Stephen A. Williams and wife Kathleen of Bakersville, NC; Kathy W. Pendziwater and husband Jack of Mebane, NC; Kent Williams and wife Tricia of Browns Summit, NC; grandchildren: Amy Jones, Karen Ellison, Brian Williams, Tyler Williams and Evan Williams and seven great grandchildren; sister, Louise Wadsley of Winston Salem, NC, and brother, Ralph L. Teague and wife Margaret of Thomasville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 12:00 noon at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Rev. Doug Kearney officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27407 or to First Lutheran Church (Pastor's Discretionary Fund), 3600 West Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27410.Online condolences may be made at haneslineberryfuneralhomes
