Ginger Armstrong, 73, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014.
Ginger was born February 6, 1941 in Des Moines to Harold Whitten and Evelyn (Bequeaith) Whitten. and also in Atlantic, Iowa. Ginger worked at Bowlerama Lanes for 17 years as a bar manager before retiring in 1987, moving to Eagle Rock, Missouri and managed Roaring River State Park Lodge. Ginger was an amazing mother and friend to many over the years.
Ginger is survived by her husband Gene Armstrong; daughters, Lorrie Jordison of Bondurant, Iowa and Bobbie Matters (Glenn) of Puyallup, Washington; three step-sons; a step-daughter; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Whitham (Bill) and Joy Gibbs (Butch); brothers, Don Whitten (Barb) and Jim Whitten (Sharon); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Whitten; father, Harold Whitten; brothers, Howard, John, Bill and Roy Whitten. She will be truly missed by many.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
