A native and lifelong resident of Woodville, MS, he was born April 23, 1927 and passed away at 11:15 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his residence surrounded by family. He was 85, owner of Beckham's Electric Company. He was a member of the U.S. Navy and a veteran of World War II. Visiting at Newman Funeral Home, Woodville, MS on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. conducted by Bro. David Hedden. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty Whitehead Beckham of Woodville, MS; 3 daughters, Teresa, Lorraine and Renee; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Wilber L. Beckham, Sr. and Ida Mae Fugler Beckham; 2 brothers, C.L. and Levard Beckham; and 1 sister, Laura Wallace. Pallbearers will be David Bell, Randy Bell, Chris Leon, Mark Trevillion, William McGraw and Theodore Pace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospices of America Foundation, 300 Highland Blvd., Suite G, Natchez, MS 39120. Newman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
