Michael R. Autieri, 27, passed away on March 15, 2014, after a courageous battle with an illness. He was born on May 23, 1986, and is the son of M. Terri and Robert C. Autieri of Methuen.
Michael was a 2004 graduate of Central Catholic High School where he was a Student Ambassador, was a member of the theater stage crew, ran cross-country and track, and played baseball. He was a 2008 graduate of Boston University where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts - Theatre Design degree.
He was a gifted athlete, especially in baseball in which he excelled on teams he played for in Methuen and on All-Star teams.
Michael was a talented and creative artist and designer. While in college, he worked on numerous college productions and was selected from students throughout the country to work as a Costume Production Assistant for two summers for the College Light Opera Company in Falmouth, Massachusetts. After his graduation from college, Michael worked as a Production Assistant on major motion film productions; including "Indiana Jones", "Edge of Darkness", and "The Fighter”.
He loved all animals, especially his dogs Max and Ivy, who always made him smile.
Above all else, Michael was a devoted and loving son who cared deeply for his parents, his brother, and his entire family.
Michael is survived by his mother, M. Terri (Wazlaw) .Autieri and his father, Robert C. Autieri, of Methuen; his brother Christopher Autieri of Methuen; his paternal grandmother Carmella Autieri of Methuen; his uncle Robert Wazlaw and wife Pam of Methuen; his uncle John Wazlaw of Lawrence; his aunt Janet Bennett of Lawrence; his cousins Ryan Bennett of Lawrence and Tyler and Erik Walsh of Methuen; and many friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Henry Wazlaw of Lawrence; his paternal grandfather Carmen Autieri of Methuen; and his cousin Raquel Bennett of Lawrence.
A Mass and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at St. Monica's Church in Methuen at 12 noon. Family and friends are invited to meet with Michael's family from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at St. Monica's Church on April 12, 2014, prior to the Mass and Memorial Service.
In honor of Michael's love for animals, memorial contributions may be made in Michael's name to MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130, Attention: Donations.
