Timothy Kevin Carroll of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Cumberland, died Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
Kevin was born Aug. 11, 1952, to Thomas E. (deceased) and Mary Eileen Carroll (nee Carey).
Kevin graduated from Bishop Walsh High School (Class of 1970). He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master's of Business Administration from The University of Maryland, College Park. He also graduated from Federal Executive Institute and was a member of NCMA Board of Advisors.
Kevin was drafted into the U.S.Army (1972) during the Vietnam War era and was honorably discharged in 1974.
Kevin enjoyed a 32-year contracting career with the federal government, working at the Department of Transportation, U.S. Coast Guard, and Department of Defense (Army). He rose through the ranks and became U.S. Army Program Executive Officer, Enterprise Information Systems (PEO-EIS), at Fort Belvoir, Va., for over a decade.
Kevin won many awards, including a 3-time recipient of the FCW's Fed100 and top honors by Industry Advisory Council. Upon his retirement in 2008, he created The Kevin Carroll Group - a very successful, high-end consulting firm which he headed until his death. He had numerous clients from both IT and defense business sectors and served on a number of corporate boards.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, stepdaughter, three grandchildren, brother, two sisters, Uncle Robert Carey; and numerous other cousins, nephews and nieces.
In accordance with Kevin's wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be placed at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
