Donna Eccles Russell, 75, was born in Jamestown, NY to the late Albert and Eleanor Eccles. Her valiant battle with cancer ended on May 24, 2020 at her home in Pensacola.
Donna was a Navy brat that followed her father around the globe until the family finally settled in Pensacola. She graduated from Escambia High School in 1962. Upon graduation, she joined the Air Force as an OR Tech to provide care for injured Vietnam soldiers where she met her husband, Robert R Russell, Sr, a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force. Donna and Bob were married on June 27, 1964 and they began their family in 1965. After more than 10 years of traveling with the military, the family returned to Pensacola where Donna pursued her nursing degree, became an RN, and worked in her field for over 20 years. Donna enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending every moment she could with her family.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Nina Jean Adams and Nancy June King. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Russell; her brother, Albert Eccles; her four children, Ruth Gray, Robert and Susan Russell, Jr, Randall and Rain Russell, and Rachael and TJ Jordan; her 10 grandchildren, Brittany and Ken Wood, Charlaine Murphy, Benny and Brittany Gray III, Richard Russell, Kaitlin Russell, Nicole Russell, Randall Russell II, Frank Russell, Brianna Jordan, and Vanessa Jordan; and her eight great grandchildren, Mason Wood, Brooklyn Gray, Lily Pablo, Kassidie Wood, Kendra Wood, Kai Pablo, Miya Gray, and Alexander Gray.

A visitation for Donna will be held from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506. Funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm, followed by a reception at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Donna will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery.
