Elsie Cress Parsons, 76, of Hickory passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at her residence.

She was born October 14, 1943 in Johnson County, TN to the late Clyde Raymond Cress and Dorothy Payne Cress.

Elsie was a charter member of The Chapel Church in Hickory and retired as a seamstress after many years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, A.C. (Bud) Cress and Allen R. Cress.

Those left to cherish her memory are;

Husband of 57 years: Fred Hayden Parsons of the home

Son: Phillip Parsons and wife Tracy of Hickory

Daughter: Teresa Miller and husband Michael of Conover

Sister: Marjorie Halsey and husband Randy of Newton

Grandchildren: Kimbra Hicks, Amanda Miller, Makayla Miller, Preston Haas and Tabitha Spencer

Five Great-Grandchildren

A graveside service to celebrate Elsie’s life will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory. Rev. Dale Watts will officiate. Those serving as pallbearers are; Rodney Harris, Ethan Harris, Preston Haas, Jason Phillips, Hunter Fulbright, Billy Sanders, Eric Wilson and Chris Houston.
