Bruce Lamar Knight, age 62 of Monticello, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born February 13, 1958, in Chicago, IL to the late Cecil Lamar Knight and Jewell Caldwell Knight.

He retired from Local 155 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union and was of the Baptist faith. Bruce was a 1976 graduate of Monticello High School where he played football for the Billies and was also a member of the Rodeo Club. He went to school at Three Rivers VoTech, now UAM, to receive his welding certificate. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved all kinds of hunting and loved crappie fishing. He was also a bareback rider when he was in high school. Bruce helped build Nuclear One in Russellville and was a good storyteller. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad and brother and the love of his life were his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Johnson Knight of the New Hope Community; his sister, Cecile Knight and Greg McLaughlin of Gilbert, AR; two daughters, Maribeth Barnett and George of Lake Village and Lacey J. Barnett and Daniel of Arkansas City; five grandchildren, David Quinon, Carson Leighann, Carliebeth, Sarah Danielle and Daniel Lamar; a very special friend, Kip Williams; many UA brothers and sisters and a host of cousins and dear friends.

Graveside service will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Andrews Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Caleb Lane officiating.
