Mary was born In Opelika, Alabama, March 17, 1934 to the union of Curtis and Rosie Lee Dorsey, who preceded her in death. Mary came to Syracuse in 1954. She worked for several companies including General Electric and Singer Sewing Machine. Mary was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and the Salvation Army Adult Center.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, two brothers, one son James Dorsey. She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Curtis, Robert and Alfonzo Dorsey of Syracuse, two daughters Mary Helen (Garry) Scott of Syracuse, Cynthia Dorsey of Rochester, NY; one sister Mozelle Reed, one brother Spencer (Essie) Dorsey of Syracuse, NY; and a host of grand, great and great-great grandchildren.
PRIVATE Funeral Services will be attended by the immediate family only; Loved ones & Friends are welcome to Calling Hours, Monday, June 1st, 11am– 12:00 PM at Garland Bros. Funeral Home, 143 martin Luther King West, Syracuse, NY 13205. Due to COVID-19 Regulations all are asked to walk-thru, view, and exit. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
