Elaine Lee Richey

WINSTON-SALEM - Elaine Lee Richey, 65, of Winston-Salem, died September 1, 1997, in Mexico while receiving alternative treatment for pancreatic cancer.
Ms. Richey, a renowned performer and teacher of the violin, was on the faculty of the North Carolina School of the Arts and concertmaster of the Winston-Salem Symphony. She gave herself completely to her art and unselfishly to her students. It was her love and her life's work.
Ms. Richey is survived by her three sons, David Lee Richey, Craig Johnson Richey and Evan Frazer Richey.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 7pm Sunday, October 26, at the Stevens Center for the Performing Arts.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be sent to the North Carolina School of the Arts Foundation: Elaine Lee Richey Scholarship Fund, 200 Waughtown Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27117.
