Ashley Lane Hicks, age 41, of Troy, Ohio, and formerly of Cynthiana, Kentucky, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Miami Valley Hospital, in Dayton, Ohio, due to complications from Polycystic Kidney Disease. She was born in Cynthiana, Kentucky, on September 15, 1978, to Linda (Bu) and Bill Hicks. She was a member of Cynthiana Baptist Church. She was a 1996 graduate of Harrison County High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University and later transferred to Bluffton College, in Bluffton, Ohio, where she graduated in 2006 with master’s degrees in business administration and organizational management.

Ashley is survived by: her best friend and partner, Marcus Adams, of Troy, Ohio, and his daughters, Cory, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Allexah, of Springboro, Ohio; her mother, Linda (Bu) Hicks, of Cynthiana; her father and step-mother, Bill and Cindy Hicks, of Lexington; a sister, Abby (Eric Dingus) Hicks, of Cynthiana; two step-sisters, Aimee (Andy) Kern and their son, Carson Kern, of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Emma Opdahl and her daughter, Jordan Bodkin, of Lexington; and three aunts, Shirley (Jim) McKee, of Cynthiana, Connie (Jon) Ellena, of Carlsbad, California, and Linda (Denny) Gallagher, of Carlisle, Kentucky, along with their families. She was preceded in death by: her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Agnes McBee, of Cynthiana; her paternal grandparents, Shearle and Dorothy Hicks, of Cynthiana; and her step-grandmother, A. J. Strassburger, of Lexington.

Due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Ashley's name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation online at www.kidney.org/donate or via mail to National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department 30, East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016 or the charity of your choice. Newcomer Funeral Home, in Erlanger, Kentucky, was in charge of arrangements.
