Scott was a good friend of M. Eddie Wright, Jr. (my wife's son) & his Hope Branham Slyce. He loved the beach & had access at Cherry Grove Beach. He had serious but stable medical issues. On a trip to Washington state to get his daughter back to S. C. because of the Wuhan virus pandemic, he apparently did not take his medications as he should have and things got much worse by the time he was back in S. C. This became compounded by complications which took him out (but not the Wuhan virus).
