Husband of Mary (Garnett) Shipworth Evans. They were married on October 30, 1856 in Highland County, Ohio. Their children included: John, Elizabeth, Charles, Teddy, James, Samuel, William, Franklin, Martha "Mattie," Jacob and Robert Evans. Wilson was a Veteran of the Union Army in the Civil War. He enlisted on September 15, 1864 in Co. D, 16th U.S. Colored Infantry and he was mustered out on September 14, 1865.

Please note: Some documents give Wilson's wife's maiden name as "Garnett" and others as "Skipworth," however, newspaper articles about Mary list her maiden name as Garnett.
