Georgia Lou “Joy” Cooper Baker, of Woodlawn passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

She was born September 2, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Robert and Ava Cooper.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her uncle, Edwin Ivy.

She graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, OK, she went on to graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1980, where she received her Bachelors of Arts Degree. She worked as a clerk in many fields and later became an antiques and collectibles dealer. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed, painting, drawing, and was very talented in pen and ink. She was very strong in her faith and loved the Lord. Mrs. Baker will always be remembered for her outgoing and friendly personality.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Sam Baker, her daughter, Athena Baker Beech and husband Benton of Ovett, MS, one granddaughter, Courtney Rose Orr, uncles, Frank Ivy and Thomas Ivy of Henderson, TN, two cousins, Lisa Suiter and Shirley Carr, and her best friends, Linda Groat of Tulsa and Belinda Graham of Richland, MS.

A memorial service will be held in Cave Springs Cemetery in Henderson, TN at a later date.
