A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2:00pm at Warrensville Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Huntsinger and Rev. Rex Eldreth
officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Friday; one hour prior to the memorial service.
Mrs. Stanley was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, January 16, 1946 to the late Volna Ralph and Emma Snyder Shoemake.
She was a member of Warrensville Baptist Church. Janet worked part-time at Mountain Grocery.
She enjoyed baking, sewing and reading in her spare time. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all.
Mrs. Stanley is survived by her husband, Daymon Stanley; two sons, Jeffery Richardson, of Warrensville and Barry Houck and wife, Sharon, of
Zionsville; a daughter, Diane Smith and husband, Gary, of Granite Falls; a step son, Paul Stanley of Kentucky; a step daughter, Shelley Stanley, of
Kingsport, TN; two brothers, Cecil Shoemake, of Elkin and J.C. Shoemake and wife, Brenda, of Warrensville; a sister, Carolyn Hartsog, of Jefferson; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two honorary grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews also survive.
