Annie was raised in Monticello and graduated from Monticello High School, class of 1947. Her first job was as a telephone operator. Annie met Dick Broderick at a dance out east after he had returned from serving in the army in World War II. They ware married September 1, 1947 in her parent's home in Monticello and went to Carlsbad Caverns for their honeymoon. They were sealed in the Los Angeles temple in 1964. They lived in Dove Creek for the first few years of their married life and Annie was elected to serve as Dolores County Recorder in the first election she was old enough to vote. Then came their sons Jimmie and Phillip to fill their lives with joy and lots of energy. They lived there several years and then picked up the kids and their whole house and moved to Monticello.
Dick and Annie and the boys moved briefly to Salt Lake City where Dick went to tire recapping school and then they returned to Monticello and opened Broderick Tire on the corner of Main and Center where the Dollar Store is now. They later built a new Goodyear Tire store on the eastern edge of town and then built the Park Lanes bowling alley next door a few years later. Annie was the bookkeeper for the business. She had several other jobs over the years as bookkeeper at Monticello Merc., the old doctor's office, and secretary in the county attorney's office. After Dick had retired, they served as sextants of the Monticello cemetery.
Annie was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many different callings. Dick and Annie served a mission in the Brownsville\Pittsburgh, PA mission and then were called to serve in the Manti temple as ordinance workers. They were then called to serve in the newly built Monticello temple.
