Dan Bennett passed away on May 26, 2020 at home in St Louis Missouri. He was born January 25, 1958 and raised in Shelbyville, Illinois and is the son of Marilyn Bennett. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s of Psychology from Eastern Illinois University, Master’s Degree in professional counseling from McKendree University, and Bachelor’s of Computer Science from Southern New Hampshire University. He worked as a substance abuse counselor and a software engineer. He worked and lived many places including Germany, Arizona and St. Louis Missouri.

He loved his family very much and loved to gather everyone together for a meal. He also enjoyed nature, spending time with his family’s dogs, tinkering with computers, and listening to music a little too loud. He valued his sobriety and his relationship with God. He is survived by his mother Marilyn Bennett, his siblings Vicki Alday and Bill (Lena) Bennett, his children Kristin (Zach) Courtright and Adrian Bennett; close friends Karin Bennett (who he was married to for 19 years) and John (Kris) Contrino.
