Funeral services for Mr. Ike Carter, Jr., 76, Magee, were held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at noon from the Chapel at Reeves Funeral Home, Inc., Mount Olive. Pastor E. D. Moffett officiated the service. Interment was in Gregory Cemetery, Magee. Reeves Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Carter passed away on October 30, 2017.
Honorary pallbearers were R. C. Carter, Jaden Winn, Monquaivs Craft, Monique Craft, Dempsey Buchanan, Zyrus Craft, Rayzelle Womack, Ky'Yorris Craft, Robert Oliver, Clarence Page, Malcolm Womack, Quenton C. Smith,Jermond Winn, Clifton Dale Ealey, Stoke Hough Adams Jr., J. P. Page, Jerry Laird, Johnny Smith, Jamar Winn, Lawrence Page, Patrick Page, Reginald Nelson, and Latarus Winn.
Active pallbearers were Monique Craft, Monquaivs Craft, Dempsey Buchanan, Johnny Smith, Dexter Hayes and Malcolm Womack Flower bearers were nieces, family and friends.
Mr. Carter was employed by the railroad for many years and was also a carpenter by trade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, step-son, sister, and an uncle.
Survivors include his companion, Elizabeth “Lizzie" Stubbs; brother, R. C. ( Geraldine) Carter; granddaughter, Alexus Oliver; son-in-law, Robert Oliver; sister-in-law, Mamie L. Craft; brothers-in-law, Jerry Laird, Stroke Hough Adams, Jr, and Lawrence (Alice) Page; a special family friend, Mary Cooper; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
