Art was born on August 21, 1937, in Fargo, ND, to Arthur Henry Sr. and Bergliot C. Storvik Wilson. He grew up in the Fargo-Moorhead area and developed his work ethic early by delivering papers for the Star Journal Tribune with his dog, Skipper, and washing windows. Art attended Interstate Business College and while doing so, worked for Dwyer Beverage.
He married Adele K. Ziegler April 19, 1957, in Moorhead, MN. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage and were blessed with three children. His career as an accountant began with Oliver Gauslow, auditing grain elevators. Art went on to start his own auditing practice in 1965 and continued until his retirement in 1996, after which he repeatedly stated, "Keep working as retirement sucks".
Art and Adele enjoyed travelling, especially their annual, month-long family motor home trips. Starting in 1997, Art and Adele spent the winters in Mesa, Arizona, at VDO, where they enjoyed the social life. In 2003, they moved to Big Cormorant Lake, where one of Art's passions was meticulously caring for his lawn on his John Deere tractor. His highlights of every year included hunting, holidays, golfing, boating, and playing cards. No morning was complete without coffee and cribbage.
His was a life well lived filled with accomplishments, adventures, family, friendships, and love.
Art is survived by his loving wife, Adele; son, Daniel (Paula) Wilson, of Marco Island, FL; daughters, Jodi (Dale) Haug, of Mound, MN, and Tracie (Jayne Reinhart) Wilson, of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren: Rachel Osborne, Brant (Jayne) Wilson, Ryan Haug and Erin Haug; great-grandchildren: Paxton, Owen, and Eli Osborne, and Charlie Wilson; brother, Allen Wilson, of Yelm, WA, and sister, DeVon Jokstad, of Fargo, ND.
