A private graveside service will be held May 27, 2020, at 2:30 p.m., at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
Carol was born on Saturday, December 19, 1942, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Fred and Pearl Smashey Clark. She married Franklin Bates, who preceded her in death January 10, 2001
She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Melissa) Bates and David Bates; one sister, Teresa Gilbert; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Cook II.
Carol loved reading her bible every day. She will truly missed by her family and friends.
