Richard was born Oct. 15, 1955 a lifelong resident of Crystal Springs. He worked at Kuhlman Electric, Siemens and started R & R Steam cleaning in 1998. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, Miss State and New Orleans football. Richard’s passion was Brotherhood ministries and sharing Jesus with others. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and his two grandchildren, Iverson and Sadler.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Diane Pennington Sims. His daughter Leigh Ann Sims of Crystal Springs. His son Richard Lee Sims Jr. (Merideth) of Madison Ms and their two children Iverson and Sadler. Siblings Robert Sims, Joyce Sims Thornton (Harry), Danny Sims (Jonette) all of Crystal Springs.
A graveside service will be 11am Friday at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Service in Crystal Springs is handling arrangements.
