KARATINA, KENYA Mrs. Violet Elwanda Madison Fields, 94, of Karatina, Kenya, East Africa went to be with her Lord and Savior Oct. 13, 2015. She and her husband, David Fields have served our Lord as Independent Baptist Missionaries in Zambia, Mauritius, Togo and Kenya for the past 63 years.

She was born in North Iredell County, Olin, North Carolina, U.S.A., July 10, 1921 to Clarence Espy Madison and Ina Bell Weisner Madison. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, David Lee Fields; son, Stephen Fields, and wife Martha, Pastor in Ellijay, Ga.; Paul Fields, and wife Marla, missionaries in Paraguay, South America; daughter, Barbie Fields VanCleave residing in Albany, Ga.; and daughter Sandra Fields Washer, and husband Terry Washer, missionaries in Zambia; she is survived by 13 loving grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Lessie Odena Madison Souther Van Hoy; husband, Anthony; and one brother, Weisner Clay Madison, Sr. and wife Joyce. Surviving are one brother, Thomas Ray (Tom) Madison and wife Katie of Trinity, N.C.; and one sister, Laula Mae Madison Walker (Husband Junie, deceased) of Reidsville.

Elwanda's remains will be buried in Karatina, Kenya awaiting the return of our Savior, Jesus Christ, while her soul rejoices in the eternal presence of our Heavenly Father.
