She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Guy) Ray of Lakewood, CA, son Jim Cheek of Tehachapi, CA, daughter Donna Cheek of Valencia , CA and granddaughter Allison Cheek of Tehachapi, CA. She is also survived by a brother, Audie Alexander of Pleasant Plains, IL, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Threasa was very active while her children were in school by being a room mother and enjoyed hobbies such as cake decorating, ceramics and upholstery. She returned to work at Superior Honey and Los Angeles Chemical, both in South Gate. She was also always willing to help out at her church, first at North Bellflower Church of Christ, then later at South Gate Church of Christ.
After retiring, she stayed involved at her church by quilting lap robes for convalescent homes, food distribution and helping out wherever the need was greatest.
Threasa stayed active into her later years, taking exercise classes, canning berries, candy making, jewelry making and staying involved at South Gate Church of Christ. She will be greatly missed by her devoted family, friends and all those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Donations in Threasa’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
