Vincent Thomas Higgins, Jr. was born May 18, 1936 in Florence, South Carolina.  He left this earth in Cedar Park, Texas on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the age of 83.

His parents were Vincent Thomas Higgins of New Jersey and Olive Pendergrass Atkinson of Florence, S.C.  Vincent graduated from Florence High School and joined the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He was transferred to Dyess AFB in Abilene, meeting his daughter's mother in Texas.

After his Air Force discharge, he remained in Texas, attending Texas Tech University and becoming a huge Red Raider Fan. He began his career of 35 years working for the Federal Aviation Agency.  Cedar Park is where he chose to spend the remainder of his retirement and life.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Shirley Higgins.

A loving father, grandfather and husband, he leaves behind his daughter, Valerie Janine Snelson of Odessa; Marilyn Higgins of Midland; his grandsons, Carter Thomas Snelson and wife Tracy Shahan Snelson of Austin, and Cole Roper Snelson of Odessa; and stepdaughter Laura Dolter of Dallas.

The family will hold a private graveside service.
