Frederick Brown Carter, 73 of Marion passed away at 10:30 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Frederick was born April 12, 1947 in Marion to William and Violet (Brown) Carter.
He married Donna Harris on November 14, 1972 in Marion. Together they have shared 47 years of marriage.
Frederick was retired from Bombardier Boat Factory in Benton. He was previously employed by Old Ben #25 Coal Mine, Marion Federal Prison and the Marion Fire Department.
He was a veteran of the United State Air Force having served his country honorably. He was a 1965 graduate of Marion High School. He was a graduate of John A. Logan College and later attended SIU-Carbondale.
He was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Marion and Fellowship Masonic Lodge #89 of Marion. He liked to mow his grass and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Donna Carter; son, F. S. (W.) Carter of Ava; daughter, A. D. Carter of Marion; three grandchildren; four siblings, Dolly of Kansas City, MO, Violet, J. Carter and C. Carter all of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Linda of Marion and Gayla (Louie) of Joliet.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be at later date with inurnment in Davis Prairie Cemetery.
