Mrs. Linda Faye Church, 77, of Swansboro, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020. She was born in Forsyth County on March 12, 1943, to the late Lee Brock Holder and Katherine Lee Holder. She was self-employed for 35 years before retiring at the coast like she always wanted. Linda’s pride and joy were her eighteen great grandchildren who called her “Memaw”. Linda was a selfless mother, sister, and friend who always put others above herself.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her late husband, Raymond Church (“Pop”) and her son Darryl Matthew Overby. Surviving is her sister, Glenda Lee Shouse, her daughter, Teresa Akers Overton, her sons: Christopher Scott Holder and James Allen Overby, ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, lifelong friend Ruth Yokely, and her dachshund Chestnut.

A private family graveside will be held at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
