Richard Danny Vaughn, 78, of Pleasant Hill, was born, January 5, 1942, in Pleasant Hill, the son of Bernie Edwin and Lula Blanche (Walker) Vaughn. He departed this life, Monday, May 25, 2020, at the Redwood of Raymore Health Care Center.
Danny attended the Judy School in near Pleasant Hill and later attended Pleasant Hill High School.
On August 28, 1960, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Jane Vaughn in Greenwood. She preceded him in death on September 24, 2018.
Danny was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Pittman Construction and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #101. He was a member of Jewel Lodge #480 A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed playing the fiddle, guitar and the mandolin with various local country music bands and he loved tinkering around in his shop at home.
Danny was also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Harold Vaughn, Harry Vaughn, Leo Vaughn, and Bernie Vaughn.
He is survived by three sons Rick (and Holly) Vaughn of Pleasant Hill, Chris (and Robin) Vaughn of Amoret, and Kelly Vaughn of Burleson, Texas; five grandchildren, Loren Faldz of Peculiar, Chad (and Sarah) Vaughn of East Lynn, Mitchell Vaughn of Pleasant Hill, Korie Vaughn and Collin Vaughn , both of Burleson; 5 great grandchildren, Aaron, Lydia, Nona, Jimi, and Zoey; one brother, Arlin (and Stella) Vaughn of Adrian; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday May 28, 2020, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Reverend Rob Vaughn will officiate. Casket bearers are Rick Vaughn, Chris Vaughn, Kelly Vaughn, Bill Vaughn, Collin Vaughn, and Rob Vaughn.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
