Lakeland – Roy G. Graves – 82, died May 18, 2020. Mr. Graves was born in Ewing, KY on July 31, 1937 to the late Joseph and Etta Graves. Moving from Kentucky, he and his family became long time residents of Lakeland, FL. He was a graduate of Southeastern Bible College and made his career as a Pastor, Leader in Children’s Ministry and retired as the owner of SKC Logistics Trucking Company. He cared for many people from his family, children in the church nursery and participated in jail ministry. He made an impact on so many peoples lives and was a hardworking, Christian family man who was always described as honest, kind and told the best stories.
Mr. Graves is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Graves; children, Steve (Sandy) Graves, Candace(Ron) Kremann, Betty O’Neal; sibling Janice Vice; grandchildren Jaime, Justin, Jodi, Toby and Ty; great-grandchildren Bryden, Emerson, Everett and Parks. He is preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Graves Hunter.
There will be a memorial on a later date for family and friends to celebrate his life. The immediate family will hold a private service.
