French Queen. Daughter of Philippe III d'Evreux and Queen Jeanne II of Navarra. Her father was supposed to decide between two possible husbands either from Castile or France. It was finally decided that the alliance with France would be more favorable. Her mother escorted her to Paris where King Phillippe VI fell in love with her. The wedding celebrations where very spacious because the death of Philipps first wife a few months earlier and the Black Death that reigned the continent at this time. The seventeen year old girl married the thirty-nine year older King in January 1349. Philippe died in August 1350 while she was pregnant. She gave birth to a daughter, Jeanne, in the following year. She retired to Neauphle le Chateau where she lived quietly until her death 47 years later.
