Stephen Charles Owens, age 40, died of unknown causes at his Greenwood, Indiana, residence on the morning of Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
Steve was born June 11, 1979, in Anderson, Indiana, to David and Sherrie Owens. He graduated from Center Grove High School in 1997, where he was a four-year member of the baseball team. He studied Media Production at Indiana State University and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
For several years, Steve, was a team leader for Moore Landscaping. His hobbies included fishing, Cubs baseball, and he was a regular winner in local Poker tournaments. Steve played in numerous hard ball baseball and slow pitch baseball leagues.
Survivors include parents Rev. David and Sherrie (Fadely) Owens of Greenwood. Sisters Lindsey (Kevin) Vest of Indianapolis; and Emily (Ty) Hayden of Greenwood. Grandmothers Rebecca Owens (Indianapolis) and Joan Smith (Middletown). Uncle Mike (Connie) Owens (Alexandria) and Aunt Elizabeth Owens (Indianapolis.) Steve will be missed by nieces Samantha Vest and Sarah Hayden, and Nephew Christian Vest.
Steve was preceded in death by Grandfathers Rev. Chester Owens and Harold Fadely.
Due to COVID 19, the family will have a private interment, with a Celebration of Life at a future date.
