Lisa Marie Abbott, age 5 years, passed away in a car accident along with her twin sister, Lori Michelle, her 19 month old sister, Traci Abbott, along with their father, Duane G. Abbott on August 7, 1974. Another car ran a stop sign and hit their vehicle. They are survived by their mother, Rae Ellen Abbott, who survived the crash. The driver who hit them was drunk, but because he wasn't read his rights in the hospital, the blood test was inadmisable in court. He was sentenced to only 6 months in jail. Rae Ellen Abbott awoke 6 weeks later in the hospital and was told she would never walk again or be able to have another child. She became active in Mothers Against Drunk Drivers and spoke to students on the dangers of drinking and driving. Rae Ellen later remarried widower Lawrence Foy, became stepmother to his four children, and had a son, their miracle baby Andrew in 1980.
