Evelyn L. Metcalf, 87, of Baytown, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007 at her residence. She was born June 30, 1920 in Esther, Missouri to her late Parents: Frank LaRose and Willa Edwards Larose and had lived in Baytown for the last 43 years.
She is survived by: Husband of 62 years: Frank H. Metcalf of Baytown; Sons: Mike Metcalf and his wife Deborah of Rosenberg, Mark Metcalf and his wife Leslie of Baytown and Matt Metcalf and his wife Claudia of Houston; Daughter: Marcia Gilbert and her husband Cloy of Baytown; Grandson: Nicholas Metcalf of Baytown and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by: Parents: Frank LaRose and Willa Edwards Larose and a Brother: Leman LaRose.
She was an active member of the First Westminster Presbyterian Church in Baytown, where she served as Clerk of Session, Commissioner to the General Assembly, Sunday School teacher, Elder of the Church and was formerly a member of the Women's Circle. Evelyn formerly worked at the Baytown Sun in the Classifieds Department. Her passion was taking care of her family. Among her favorite activities were reading, traveling, flowers, dogs and watching baseball, with the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals being favorite teams.
Services were entrusted to Navarre Funeral Home of Baytown, Texas.
