Elizabeth Kiffer Taft

14 March 1854 to 14 July 1928

Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Taft were held at the home of her son, Lafayette Taft, at Endeavor, Monday, July 16, interment being made in the East Hickory Cemetery. The funeral was conducted by Rev. William E. Thomas and a choir consisting of Mrs. V.T. Zahniser, Mrs. Frank Beattyy, Mrs. Whitney, Victor Hendrickson, Dr. William G. Morrow and Rev. William E. Thomas sang several hymns.
Mrs. Taft was born near Tionesta, the daughter of Frederick and Eliza Ann Knicely Kiffer II, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora V. Goodwill, in Ridgeway. John G Taft of Hornell, NY, whom she married in 1871, died eight years ago. Fourteen children were born to them, ten of whom are left to mourn her loss. They are: Mrs. John Whitehill of Endeavor; B.B. Taft of Warren; Dora V. Goodwill of Ridgeway; Mrs. Edith Bush of Cameron, West Virginia; John Taft and Ernest Taft of Tidioute; Frank, Merle and George Taft of Frewsburg, NY, and Lafayette Taft of Endeavor. There are also six sisters and two brothers: Christina Hannah, Rebecca Prather, Helen Highfield, Isaiah Kiffer, Mary Spencer, Susie Spencer, Josephine Kiffer, and George Kiffer.
