Mr. John Thomas Millwood, age 96, of Concord, passed away May 21, 2020. He was born on May 19, 1924 in Marvel, AL, son of the late Jesse Edward Millwood and Elizabeth Siddons Millwood (Lackey). John was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in WWII. After his service he worked and retired as a carpenter for the Union. He was a hard working man who loved gardening, hunting, and fishing, when he wasn’t on his tractor, he enjoyed watching westerns and sports on TV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Millwood, his sons, Tommy Millwood, and Grady Millwood, brothers, Earl Millwood, and Dave Millwood, sisters, Janie Burkhart, Ethel Shirley, and Bobbie Taylor.
He is survived by his children: Linda Greene, Ramona Rimmer, and Randy Millwood; his brother: Lamar Millwood; grandchildren: Christy Cole, John Elder, Jimmy Meacham, John Rimmer, Angela Wallace, Melissa Millwood, Kyla Millwood, Tommy Millwood, Cameron Abernathy, and Cassie Abernathy; 14 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced later.
